November GVMH Staff Member of the Month

Clinton, MO – (Nov. 6, 2018) – Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare (GVMH) is proud to announce that Amy Lutjen, Human Resources Administrative Assistant, is the November GVMH Staff Member of the Month.

Lutjen has been an employee of GVMH since April 2004. Coworkers nominated Lutjen for the following:

Amy takes her job very seriously and acts in a profession manner. She never seems to have a bad day and consistently performs her work duties in a consistent and professional manner. She is a very dedicated employee. Since 2016, Amy has worked in the Human Resources Department. During her tenure in HR, she has learned a wide variety of department duties and handles any task in a calm and professional manner. She takes great pride in her work, ensuring things are done accurately.

“Amy is one of the first people new employees encounter when they come into the hospital.  She goes out of her way to make sure new employees have a good first experience at GVMH. She will escort new employees to their destination, take extra time to communicate to them about the new hire process.  She coordinates the new hire process with leaders and other departments to ensure it runs smoothly for all involved.  She never hesitates to stay late or work extra if a project needs to be completed.

“Amy is a great team member. She recently changed a planned day off when she learned someone else had to be off work for an unplanned and important issue. She cancelled her day off without complaint and insisted on working that day so her co-worker could be off. In this situation, she put the best interest of the other employee, as well as the needs of the department, above her own personal interest.   Amy has always been willing to alter her schedule to accommodate the needs of new hires. Whether it is coming in on a weekend, or coming in early or staying late, she is always willing to make the extra effort to assist new hires.

“Amy is very active in her kids’ lives and is always involved in volunteering in their school activities, including being involved with the Band Boosters program at Clinton High School.  At work she has been a member of the Staff Advisory Committee, involved with MASH Camp, and has helped out with the community Christmas Angel program.

In addition to being named Staff Member of the Month, Lutjen was given a flower bouquet and a $100 gift certificate. Her name will be engraved on a plaque to be permanently displayed in the hospital. She is also one of twelve finalists for the 2018-2019 Staff Member of the Year award.

Congratulations, Amy!
