GVMH offers free cancer screenings for women

CLINTON (Aug. 30, 2018) - When caught early, cervical and breast cancers can be treated and even beaten. A lack of insurance won’t get in the way for women who live in the area served by Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare.

Show Me Healthy Women, available at GVMH, offers free cervical and breast cancer screenings to women who qualify. The tests include clinical breast exams, mammograms based on age or need, pap tests and pelvic exams.

To take part, women need to:

  • Be low income,
  • Be ages 35 to 64, or older if they do not have Medicare Part B, and
  • Have no insurance to cover the tests.

The program follows federal poverty levels. A woman whose income is at or below 200 percent can qualify. For example, a 37-year-old single mom with two children who makes $40,840 a year or less can take part if she does not have insurance.

To learn more or to make an appointment, please call the Golden Valley Medical clinic nearest you in Clinton, Windsor, Warsaw or Osceola.
