Give your Halloween costume – and your nerves – a trial run at the Zombie Stroll in Clinton.

Set for Saturday morning, Oct. 27, the event happens at the Missouri Conservation Department trails on Second Street. The stroll, presented by Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare, takes the place of the Halloween Hustle 5K.

“We dropped the 5K because we want everyone to get outside and enjoy a beautiful fall morning, whether you stroll, walk or run,” said Deanna Hendrich with the GVMH Foundation.

Event T-shirts are available to those who register by Oct. 12. The cost is $20 for adults and $10 for children 12 and younger. Donations also will be accepted the day of the event. All funds raised help area patients purchase needed medical supplies, Hendrich said.

“Our physical therapists regularly work with patients who have swollen arms and legs because of lymphedema,” Hendrich said. “Having a sleeve or garment that controls the swelling can greatly improve quality of life.  We can step in and provide what’s needed when insurance falls short.”

Hendrich said attendees can expect a “fright crew” along the trails, games and activities for kids and costume contests for children, adults and dogs. The event opens at 8:30 a.m.  Costume contests begin at 8:45 a.m. and the Zombie Stroll starts at 9 a.m.
